HCGKR supported and facilitated Young Indian(YI) Entrepreneurs Global Excellence Mission to South Korea from 26th-30th August 2019 as a part of their learning and international engagement initiative. Industry Visits and meetings were organized in Seoul, Busan and Pohang. The objective of the mission was to provide Yi members with a unique learning opportunity of Global Best Practices, with visits to leading organizations and interactions with the senior management . This included industrial and company visits including electronics, heavy industry, engineering, pharma and educational sectors. The Mission comprised of 30 young business leaders and entrepreneurs from all across India from both (Yi) Coimbatore and Hyderabad Chapters .

The mission started with the Visit to Yonsei University on 26 August 2019 in Incheon. They then visited Eone-Diagnomics Genome Centres – EDGC, Incheon– a global healthcare company that has developed leading-edge technology for genome analysis through constant research and development. They also visited YG-1 Group, Incheon- one of the world’s 5 major companies in the End Mill manufacture and sales industry and also the largest in the Republic of Korea. Yi members visited Samsung Biologics in Incheon, which is a world class Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) committed to quality-driven development and manufacturing of biopharmaceutical products.

On the Second day of the delegation, Members visited KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency) Seoul. KOTRA is a state-funded trade and investment promotion organization operated by the Government of South Korea. On 27 August 2019, delegates visited the Samsung Innovation Center and Museum, a display of the Korean giant’s technological prowess. This was followed by a meeting with Ms Sripriya Ranganathan, Indian Ambassador to Republic of Korea.On the third day, the Yi Delegation visited DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) , followed by LOTTE Confectionery. On the fourth day, Yi Mission Members visited Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., Ltd (HHI), Ulsan. It is the world’s largest shipbuilding company. On the final day of the mission, members visited POSCO Pohang Steelworks on 30 August 2019

Young Indians (Yi) is an integral part of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), a non-government, not-for-profit, industry led and industry managed organization playing a proactive role in India’s development process.
